Patrick W Bale asks: If I’m thinking about a jack plate. what are some pros and cons to set backs? If I’m customizing a 15ft skiff that I’m thinking I’ll power anywhere from a 55-75 what should I be looking for? I saw these a 6″ and a 8″ set back.

Atlas micro jack plate. Anything more on a 15ft boat is to heavy and with to much setback will affect the balance/draft negatively. And I’d stay around 50hp or less

Further back more ass sag, but can be jacked all the way and get more water to the lower. What is your goal? How do u fish? With a 15ft do less set back. Keep that thing running skinny. Are you just trying to go fast? If u wanna fish in skinny water you won’t need that much hp. Keep it light. I have a 60 on my 17ft banshee extreme. Goes 30ish but runs skinny! I can get my jack plate all the way up no problem. My motor is set in more than a normal flat back though

Bobs Machine, hands down best Jack plates, action series self contained, fast and strong

Micro plate or 4 inch. Anything more is a really bad idea
