Rob Maldonado asks: Question..for those of you running larger motors. Is your steering tight? I just repowered from a 100 to a 175. Steering is much tighter. As I trim up it starts to free up. I may need to install a permatrim so I can trim up higher without porpoising. Motor is mounted up as far as it will go.s

Oh and I have a seastar helm

I was just curious if anyone was experiencing this.

Was thinking about that. The motor is mounted on the top hole which is the same as where the DF100 was and also the same as in the performance report from suzuki for this motor and boat. The last think i want to do is jackplate it. Don’t need any additional setback. Like i stated, I will just bleed the system to see if it helps.

Like Jimmy Schick said its probably sitting low. If you went from a 100 to a 175 4stroke, even the same length shaft, it’s much heavier. And being on a bracket boat extra weight will make it sit lower even while running

Was having the same problems with mine with the tell flex just ordered a hydraulic sea star setup for mine hope I don’t have the same problem
